TERMS & CONDITIONS

Quick Guide to Our Terms & Conditions

We know Terms & Conditions can feel long, so here’s a simple summary of the key things you need to know before ordering with The Table Guy.

Who we are

We are The Table Guy, a family-run business since 2014, specialising in bespoke handmade tables. We trade under Diversified Ventures Ltd, registered in England & Wales (Company No. 12476684).

Placing an order

  • Orders are confirmed by email.

  • Please double-check your details — delivery delays caused by incorrect addresses may incur extra costs.

  • You can make changes within 48 hours of ordering (size/colour). After this, a fee may apply.

Colour & wood samples

  • Online photos don’t always show colours accurately.

  • Samples are available and highly recommended.

  • Because wood is natural, no two pieces are the same — variation in colour, tone, and grain is part of the charm.

Lead times

  • Most bespoke orders take 3–10+ weeks, depending on season and design.

  • If you need your table by a specific date, please get written confirmation before ordering.

  • Lead times are calculated in working days (Mon–Fri, excluding bank holidays and Christmas break).

Delivery

  • Deliveries are by a single driver. You’ll need to provide help with lifting.

  • A provisional 5-day window is given within a few days of ordering. A firm date will follow later.

  • Delivery may take place outside normal working hours.

  • Access is your responsibility — if entry is difficult, please let us know in advance.

Assembly

  • Tables are delivered flat-packed with instructions and fixings.

  • Assembly is simple, but we also offer an assembly service (from £55 incl. VAT) within 200 miles of RH1 5QU.

Cancellations

  • Bespoke orders:
    • Within 48 hours: full refund
    • 48 hours–5 days: 30% refund
    • After 5 days: no refund

  • Pre-made or ex-display items: You can cancel within 14 days (unless modified or delivered sooner).

Returns & faulty goods

  • Please check your order on delivery and report any issues within 24 hours.

  • Bespoke items are non-returnable, but they are covered by our 5-year warranty.

  • Minor marks may be resolved with touch-up products supplied by us.

Warranty

  • All scaffold board tables and benches come with a 5-year warranty covering manufacturing and structural faults.

  • Natural wood features such as splits, knots, or variations are not faults — they’re part of the material’s character.

  • The warranty does not cover misuse, neglect, or failure to follow care instructions.

👉 This is only a summary. For full details, please read our Terms & Conditions below.

Registered Office: Archer House, Britland Estate, Northbourne Road, Eastbourne, East Sussex, BN22 8PW.

These Terms & Conditions set out how we supply our handmade bespoke products. Terms for products from our Trusted Suppliers (such as stock tables, chairs and seating) are provided on their individual product listings.

2.0 Introduction

Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before placing an order. By using this website, you agree to be legally bound by them.

We are a family-run business established in 2014, specialising in bespoke tables and associated home products.

These Terms & Conditions are designed to make buying a bespoke product online clearer and easier.

4.0 Our Reclaimed Scaffold Board Products

Reclaimed scaffold boards have been used on construction sites, so each board will naturally carry unique features, including but not limited to:

a) variations in width and thickness
b) nail holes
c) saw marks
d) fibrous grain
e) splits that do not affect function (may be present at delivery or develop later)
f) slight curves or cupping
g) variation in hue, meaning stains may differ across a board
h) rust staining

No two scaffold boards are ever identical.

Our reclaimed tops and frames are hand-sanded to remove rough edges but will retain their rustic character. Table mats may be required in some cases.

If you prefer a more uniform appearance, we recommend alternative materials such as oak, oak veneer, hardwoods, or bamboo.

Because wood is a ‘live’ material, some movement is expected:

  • A 5mm expansion gap is included between boards (unless otherwise stated).

  • Boards may rise slightly from the frame (not more than 5mm).

  • Small cracks or splits may develop over time without affecting function.

Sizes, capacities, and measurements stated on our website are approximate. Images are illustrative only — colours and stains may appear differently on screens.

5.0 Pine Tabletops

Pine contains natural moisture that responds to changes in temperature and humidity. This can cause small superficial splits or cracks (“checks”), which run with the grain but do not affect strength.

These features are common in softwoods and add rustic character. If you require a consistently flat and uniform finish, we recommend oak, oak veneer, or bamboo instead.

6.0 Trusted Suppliers

Some products are supplied by Trusted Suppliers. These may be delivered separately and carry different lead times, delivery fees, or Terms & Conditions, which are stated on the relevant product listings.

7.0 Placing an Order

a) Once you place an order, you will receive an automatic confirmation email.
b) Placing an order confirms your acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
c) You are responsible for checking that your order details and delivery address are correct. Errors may delay delivery and may incur extra costs.
d) The next working day, you will receive a welcome email from office@thetableguy.co.uk with details of your order and next steps.
e) Please check your junk/spam folders regularly.

8.0 Making Changes

  • You have 48 hours after placing an order to request changes to size or colour.

  • After 48 hours, changes may be possible but could incur an alteration fee, unless agreed in writing.

9.0 Colour Choices

  • Stains and frame colours can be chosen after placing your order.

  • We recommend requesting samples, as photos online may not show colours accurately.

  • Samples are small sections of wood only; natural variation means the final finish may differ.

  • Samples are usually dispatched within 2–5 working days, with tracking details emailed to you.

  • We cannot be held responsible for postal delays or failed deliveries of samples.

10.0 Table Sizing & Customisation

  • Please review our Design page before ordering to avoid sizing issues.

  • Pay particular attention to:
    a) chair widths
    b) fixed seating heights
    c) chair armrest heights

  • We cannot accept responsibility if chairs do not fit.

  • All non-standard requests must be made in writing by email.

  • Unless agreed otherwise in writing, table overhangs will follow the Design page specifications.

  • For bespoke designs, we may require written approval of specifications before production begins. This protects both parties from later disputes.

11.0 Lead Times

  • Delivery times are a guide only and are not guaranteed.

  • Bespoke items typically take 3–10+ weeks, depending on season and complexity.

  • Please request an estimate by email or via our contact page before ordering.

  • Delivery times are approximate and not binding unless confirmed in writing.

  • If you require a fixed date, you must obtain written confirmation before ordering.

  • Lead times begin once both frame colour and tabletop stain are confirmed.

  • Some bespoke items (e.g. console tables, BBQ tables) may take longer.

  • We are not liable for financial loss caused by delays or rescheduling.

  • Lead times are based on working days only, excluding weekends, bank holidays, and Christmas break.

12.0 Delivery Terms

  • Local deliveries are made by a single driver, so assistance from an able-bodied adult is required.

  • A provisional five-day delivery window will be provided within 1–3 working days of order.

  • Do not arrange time off work or extra help until delivery is confirmed.

  • Exact delivery times cannot be scheduled, though we will try to accommodate restrictions (e.g. school runs).

  • Distance deliveries may be undertaken by 3rd party couriers, who will liaise directly with regards delivery times.

  • Please advise us of property access issues (parking restrictions, new builds, no house number, etc.) in advance.

  • We cannot accept responsibility for delays once delivery has started. Deliveries may occur outside normal hours.

  • Delivery is complete once the table has been delivered to your address or collected by your chosen courier. Responsibility passes to you at that point.
